Both protest and party, Vancouver Pride, is the most important event in North America and took place a sunday of every august in Vancouver. The Gay Pride, since 1978, celebrates the LGBTQAI2S+ community and their right to be their full selves. The parade, which covered only one side of the street while the other remained open to traffic, ran from Nelson Park to Alexandra Park via Thurlow, Pacific and Beach. One of the notable founders of the Pride Parade, Barb Snelgrove was inducted into the Vancouver Queer Hall of Fame in 2013. Some of the live in-person events took place at Stanley Park Brewing at 8901 Stanley Park Drive. These included the Pride Lounge, Brews & Tunes and the Stanley Park Farmer’s Market, among others. Events took place at other venues too.
