The subject matter can be well described as unprecedented in Italy: no one had so far collected a photographic documentation of feminist movements around the world, carefully avoiding partisanship or hasty, ironic judgement. In dealing with it, we have first of all had to exclude texts or interviews of men: a choice made necessary by the observation that in any case men, even the most evolved and the most open-minded, hardly accept to pronounce themselves on feminism without giving in to irritation or easy or predictable irony. their attitude in the face of an indisputable reality such as the 'liberation movements' of women (a reality that can be judged in a thousand ways but not denied) has the defect of being too easily intuitable.
