This book shows the Michel Pellanders's reportage about the closure of the Ford factories in Amsterdam. The belligerent subtitle of the book is - an indictement of the Ford empire- (The bitter taste of being proved right, 1982). Thanks to the exact chronology of events Pellanders shows us the course of the workers' strike, including many Spanish and Turkish workers (not surprisingly there is a translation of the texts in these languages). This book is both an indictment of and an homage to the solidarity of the workers and their brave resistance to the American multinational.
