In the conception and production of this album, as well as the photographic exhibition that gave rise to it and was exhibited at the People's Market on the occasion of the commemoration of the 3rd anniversary of 25 April 1974, many of us collaborated with them to make one and the other a reality. In publishing this album, I would like to thank the team of journalists and photographers who made it possible, as well as the Secretary of State for Social Communications and the administrations of social communication organizations who also collaborated.

Sérgio Guimarães ( Coordinator and graphic designer )

The Carnation Revolution (in Portuguese Revolução dos cravos) was the bloodless military coup d'état in Portugal[1] that ended the dictatorial regime known as Estado Novo (New State) established by António Salazar in 1933 in 1974. The overthrow of the regime was carried out by the progressive faction of the Portuguese armed forces, who deposed Prime Minister Marcelo Caetano, Salazar's successor since the latter's infirmity in 1968, and initiated the country's democratic transition, which was completed at the end of a two-year period punctuated by bitter political struggles.
